Recycling Jackson’s purpose help provide for a clean, healthy environment in Jackson County through recycling. We are a not-for-profit organization a we DO NOT receive any government funding. This is why we have fees to recycle certain items. 

Location: 1401 N. Brown St., Jackson, Michigan.

We are open on the first Saturday of each month from 9 AM to 1 PM. Here’s what we recycle, please sort it according to the Recycling Matrix:

• Plastic bottles, containers and packaging (look for the recycling symbol with a number – see below).  Please separate and bag #1 and #2 plastics
• Batteries:  must be sorted according to instructions. 
• Styrofoam
• Cardboard boxes- please flatten
• Office paper of all types- please sort according to the matrix
• Newspaper
• Boxboard (gift boxes, cereal and food packaging) separate from cardboard.
• Aluminum foil, pans, trays (emptied and rinsed).
• CLEAN food and beverage cartons (such as milk, juice, soup, wine boxes)
• Paper milk cartons and aseptic containers
• Strings of tree lights, old extension cords, etc
• Most electronics. 
• Small appliances, refrigerators and freezers – Freon charge applies
• WE TAKE GLASS!!!! READ BELOW FOR GUIDELINES: 
  We are now accepting glass food and beverage containers for recycling. Please make sure they are washed and the lids/tops removed. Labels can stay on. Dirty containers will be rejected and sent home with the customer. There is a $1 surcharge for glass to help off-set our program costs. Questions can be sent to RecyclingJackson@gmail.com.

TUBE TYPE TELEVISIONS AND MONITORS CHARGES:

• Small: 13-inch screen size or less: $5
• Medium: 14 inches to 29 Inches: $10
• Large: 30 inches & over : $25

FLAT SCREEN TVs and MONITORS CHARGES:

• Up to 19 Inch: $5
• 20 to 49 Inch : $10
• OVER 50 Inch :  $15

PROJECTION TVs: We NO LONGER accept them.

GLASS:

We accept all colors of beverage and food container glass Please remove the lids/caps.  We charge $1  to cover our costs for this services. We can accept  window or plate glass but no pyrex dishes and containers.
